James Bradley Co-Director and Co-Founder of Lift-Off says…
"Getting into any Lift-Off Film Festival is a massive achievement. The world of independent film has grown so much over the years that many of the grass rooted filmmakers and emerging professionals are left without much of a platform any more. We felt that many of these artists who were producing exceptional work were being hugely ignored – and deserved to be seen!"
Statement from the team behind A Way of Life…
“The handmade pottery of Kasama and Mashiko regions in Japan is some of the world's most beautiful and sought-after. The potters who create these magnificent works spend decades refining their craft - throwing, molding, glazing and firing - in the rural countryside.
This short documentary reveals the passion and skill of eleven such potters. Their determination, inspiration, and creativity comes from a deep understanding of what exactly is the true craft of pottery.
Having the opportunity to show our film at the prestigious London Lift-Off Film Festival is an incredible honour. It is also a wonderful opportunity to show an international audience what exactly lies at the heart of Japanese pottery.”
A Way of Life will be screening as part of London Lift-Off Film Festival on Tuesday December 1st, between 7.00pm and 9.00pm, at The Charlotte Street Hotel, 15-17 Charlotte Street, London, W1T 1RJ
